Cookie Policy

Last updated: 23 June 2026

This policy explains how resumeink.app uses cookies and similar browser-storage technologies. The short version: no advertising cookies, ever, and product analytics runs only if you opt in. Everything else we store is strictly functional — it makes sign-in and draft-saving work.

1. What we store in your browser

ItemTypePurposeLifetime
authToken, authPhonelocalStorage Keeps you signed in after phone verificationUntil sign-out, or 30 days (server-side expiry)
resumeDraft.v1sessionStorage Saves your draft and edits so a page refresh doesn't lose workUntil the browser tab is closed
resumePendingParse.v1sessionStorage Lets an in-progress upload continue after a refreshUntil the browser tab is closed
rk_analytics_consentlocalStorage Remembers whether you accepted or declined analyticsUntil you clear it

These are "strictly necessary" — the service cannot function without them, which is why no consent banner is shown for them.

2. Third-party cookies

Two providers may set their own cookies, only at the moment you use the feature they power:

ProviderWhenPurpose
Google (Firebase Authentication & reCAPTCHA) When you sign in with your phone number Delivering the OTP flow and protecting it from automated abuse. See Google's privacy policy.
Razorpay When you open the payment window Processing your payment securely and preventing fraud. See Razorpay's privacy policy.
Google Ads (gtag.js) Only after you accept the analytics consent banner Measuring whether our ads led to a purchase (ad-click attribution and conversion counting). Loads with the same consent as analytics — if you decline, it never loads. See Google's privacy policy.

We also load typefaces from Google Fonts, which involves your browser requesting font files from Google (no cookies are set, but Google receives your IP address as part of the request).

3. Analytics & session replay (only if you accept)

To understand how the product is used and to fix problems, we use PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics tool. It loads only after you accept the consent banner — if you decline or ignore it, no analytics or recording code runs at all.

4. What we do not use

Our analytics (PostHog) is opt-in: it runs only after you accept the consent banner, and declining keeps it fully disabled.

5. Managing cookies and storage

You can clear or block storage in your browser settings (usually under "Privacy" → "Site data"). Be aware that clearing it signs you out and discards any unsaved draft; blocking it entirely will prevent sign-in, payment, and draft-saving from working.
