ResumeInk ("ResumeInk", "we", "us") operates resumeink.app, a service that converts an uploaded resume into a professionally designed, downloadable PDF. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using ResumeInk you agree to this policy.
Shared résumé links. If you share your résumé with a link, or open a résumé someone shared with you, section 6 says what is recorded.
Account data. You can sign in with your mobile phone number, verified by one-time SMS code, or with your Google account. Both run through Google Firebase Authentication. If you use Google, Google shares your Google account ID, your verified email address, your name and your profile photo with us; we store the account ID and the email address with your account, so we can identify you for support, billing and data requests, and we do not store your name or photo. We never receive or store your Google password, and we do not collect a password of our own.
Resume content. The document you upload (PDF, Word, or image) and everything in it — typically your name, contact details, work history, education, skills, and optionally a photograph — plus every edit you make in the editor. This is the core data the service exists to process, and it can include sensitive personal information; please upload only what you are comfortable including in your resume.
Payment data. Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card number, UPI PIN, or banking credentials. We store only the order ID, payment ID, amount, and which resume the payment unlocks.
Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps, requested pages) used for security and debugging, retained for a limited period.
Reviews and testimonials. If you submit a review of ResumeInk, we collect your star rating and review text, the display name and any optional role or company you choose to show, and — kept private and never shown publicly — your email address and IP address. The email and IP are used only to verify the review, prevent spam and abuse, and contact you about your review or a takedown request. A review is shown publicly only if you explicitly consent and only after a moderation check.
Public résumé showcase (optional). If you opt in when leaving a review, we render a privacy-redacted thumbnail of a résumé you built with ResumeInk and display it beside your review as an example. Your name, contact details and photo are removed before the image is created, and the original résumé is never shown publicly or indexed — only the redacted thumbnail, and only after an admin has reviewed it. You can withdraw the showcase at any time, after which the thumbnail is removed from public display and our storage.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your resume content for advertising.
To convert your upload into an editable draft, the pages of your document are sent to OpenAI (our AI processing provider), which extracts and restructures the text. Under OpenAI's API terms, content submitted through the API is not used to train their models. AI extraction can make mistakes — you can review and correct everything in the editor before downloading.
If you use the optional AI assist features (rewriting a line, tailoring to a job description, an AI review of your résumé, or drafting a cover letter or LinkedIn copy), the relevant text — the field, your résumé, and any job description you paste — is sent to OpenAI to generate a suggestion, under the same "not used to train" API terms. Rewrites, reviews and tailoring are suggestions: nothing changes until you accept it. When you paste or describe an entry for the AI to fill in, the fields it fills appear in your résumé straight away for you to check, edit or undo. Every AI draft should be reviewed before use.

Each provider processes data under its own terms and only to provide its service to us. Because some providers are located outside India and the EU, your data may be transferred internationally with appropriate safeguards.
If you share your résumé with a link (resumeink.app/r/…), anyone who has the link can
open that page, without an account. You choose what the page shows: your email is shown and your phone
number is hidden unless you change it, and the PDF download can be switched off. You can turn a link
off at any time, and deleting the résumé turns its links off and deletes their records.
What we record when someone opens a shared résumé, so its owner can see that it was read:
We don't store a visitor's IP address or browser details, set no cookies, and run no analytics on that page. To count unique viewers we use a code made from the IP address and browser that changes every day, so a visitor can't be recognised from one day to the next. A visitor whose browser sends "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" is counted as one view and nothing else. Link previews made by chat apps, and the owner's own visits, are not counted. These records are kept for 180 days. The owner of a link sees these totals and recent visits — never who the visitor is. Every shared page tells its visitors this.
Options an owner can turn on (with Pro): a short address of their own
(resumeink.app/r/yourname), whose page hides the email and phone number until the owner shows
them, because anyone who guesses the address can open it; a fixed version of the résumé for a link, which
we keep as a copy with that link until the owner changes it, turns the link off or deletes the résumé;
and a date when the link turns itself off.
Tracking applications (with Pro). An owner who tracks their job applications can keep, for each one, the company, the role, the dates, its status, a follow-up date and a note. Only the owner sees them. None of it appears on the shared page, and it is deleted with the résumé.

To exercise any of these, email support@resumeink.app from a message that lets us verify you control the account: the registered phone number, or, if you signed in with Google, the email address on that Google account. We respond within 30 days.
Data is transmitted over HTTPS, stored on access-controlled servers, payment credentials never touch our systems, and download access is verified server-side. No internet service can promise absolute security, but we follow industry-standard practices and limit access to personal data.
ResumeInk is a career tool intended for users of working age. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy as the service evolves. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version; material changes will be announced on the site.
