What the ATS checker looks at

Your score combines four pillars, each weighted by how much it matters to hiring software:

• Machine-readability (35%) — does your text survive extraction, is it real text rather than an image, is there one sane reading order, and do your contact details and dates parse?
• Content strength (30%) — do your bullets show impact and achievements rather than duties, and does the wording match your seniority?
• Keyword and job match (25%) — do you cover the skills and titles the role asks for, without keyword stuffing?
• Structure and completeness (10%) — are the core sections there, with complete contact details, consistent dates and a sensible length?

How to check your resume

1. Upload your current resume as a PDF, Word/DOCX file or a photo. The AI rebuilds it into a clean design and keeps your words.

2. Tap “Check my ATS score”. You'll sign in with Google or your phone number first, so your results stay with your resume.

3. Read the result: your score, its grade, the four pillar scores and how high it could go once the issues are fixed.

What your ATS score means

Scores fall into five bands: Poor (0–39), Needs work (40–54), Fair (55–69), Good (70–84) and Strong (85–100). The bands are deliberately strict, so a Strong score means the software can read nearly everything and your content is doing real work.

The quickest wins are usually mechanical: real text instead of a scanned image, standard headings like Experience and Education, one clear reading column, and dates in a consistent format. After that, the biggest gains come from content: numbers that show impact, achievements instead of responsibilities, and the skills the job description asks for, used naturally. Fix the issues and check again
